Response to Bright Nwokocha

Bright my brother,

I believe that we should commend our members from small chapters for arguing against the mandatory levy imposed on non-convention attendees based on lack of due process and unconstitutional reasons. The stakeholders of NNAUSA should be given the opportunity to partake on issues that affect their finances. NNAUSA is a democratic association where members have the inalienable right to express their views on issues that affect their members directly or indirectly.

Bright could you please explain to us the justification of levying members that did not attend the convention when NNAUSA has over $200,000 in the bank? Do you know that NNAUSA member’s dues were increased by 100% less than two years ago? Do you think that levying hard working members of NNAUSA that did not attend the convention is fair? Why should you heap insults on members that oppose the unconstitutional levy? Do you know that most chapters spend over 75% of their revenue on NNAUSA's dues? Now I pose this important question: what do the chapters get in return?
If I may use New York chapter 130 members as an example:
Dues & Burial fund: 130 x $100 = $13,000
Additional mandatory levy: 130 x $50 = $6,500
If approved the annual NCO payment to NNAUSA: $19,500.
Again my next question to you and the proponents of the levy, what can we show as the justification of the $19,500 to innocent due paying members of New York Chapter?

I personally commend my good friend Vin as one of the vocal council members from the so called small chapters for standing up for what he believes in and his opposition to the unconstitutional levy to the general membership. Most of us opposed SPEC because of the poor communication and poor planning of the program. The failure of SPEC has nothing to do with the small chapters. Bright my brother can you or any member of SPEC committee account to Ndingwa how the money collected was spent?

We should learn how to respect individual differences regardless of their position. Your insult to NNAUSA small chapters is unacceptable and should be discouraged.
Thank you and God bless.
